MENTOR OR TORMENTOR?
What do you have? A mentor or a tormentor? You can tell when you clearly know how your leader makes use of these:
A mentor uses his position to inspire his protege. He encourages his protege to do better than him. A tormentor uses his position to intimidate his protege. He discourages, and always want to do better than him…anytime.
A mentor is focused on his people than on himself. He makes a lot of sacrifices in order to develop his constituents. A tormentor is focused on himself than on his people. He sacrifices his constituents for his personal development.
A mentor empowers his protege to control his situations and challenges him to dominate by influencing him in a positive way. A tormentor uses his power to control his protege in every situation by becoming a challenge- even when the protege needs to exercise his own realm of influence.
A mentor believes in, and practices delegation. He believes that his protege has the exposure and the experience to lead without any undue influence. A tormentor believes in and practices dictation. He believes that his protege does not have the required exposure and experience to lead, and therefore influences his decisions all the time.
Do you have a mentor or a tormentor? Pursue mentors and stay away from tormentors. Who is your mentor? Receive grace!
